Hazardous locations typically refer to areas where combustible vapors and dusts as well as flammable gases and liquids are present that potentially could cause explosions or major fires.  Hazardous location examples include offshore oil and natural gas drilling platforms.

Class 1, Div 2 testing ensures that the equipment tested is suitable to be placed in such environments.  Delta Surge equipment has been tested and is compliant with Class 1, Div 2.
