POWER UTILITIES

Power Utility substations are subject to some of the most extreme environmental challenges imaginable.  Networking and power products are subject to EMI, shock, vibration, and extreme temperatures.  Equipment must undergo extreme testing to meet standards such as IEC 61850-3 and IEEE 1613 Class 2 for installation into these substations.

Delta Surge equipment is purpose-built to not only survive these extreme conditions but also thrive.  Delta Surge substation-hardened products also undergo rigorous testing that can be backed up with documents.  For example, Delta Surge temperature testing does not mean simple type tests or dry heat tests but rather long and extended testing.

Delta Surge products are well-suited for the power utility industry as they feature:

  • Operating temperature: -40°C to 85°C
  • High MTBF: typically 219,000 hours (25 years)
  • Full range of real robust Ethernet products
  • High IP Ratings
  • IEC 61850-3
  • IEEE 1613 Class 2
  • Full range of DC voltages including 125 and 250 VDC.
  • Models have dual inputs; many have dual power supplies
  • Many models have compact design for limited spaces
  • PoE+ models are available for physical security
  • Devices are available with built-in surge protection
  • Real robust chassis
  • High immunity to EMI
  • High shock and vibration resistance
  • Made in the USA
